A little bit of context

When I was studying in Australia, I was listening to one of my Australian friends complain about how she was trying to eat healthier but she was bored of the salad options available. She was right... although salads are a staple in the Australian diet, restaurants tend to offer the same few pre-made salads. Now let's embark on a journey to solve this.

What's missing from the Australian salad scene?

Key problems Queenslanders aged 18-35 face when ordering their salad (based on an online survey of 300 people).

pain points

Limited customisation

Many food establishments offer salads with pre-selected ingredients, leaving customers to remove what they don’t like.

Nutritional uncertainty

Queenslanders lack an easy way to access detailed nutritional information for the ingredients in their salads.

Dietary restrictions

There’s a lack of affordable options that cater to specific dietary restrictions like vegan, gluten-free, or low-carb.

Lacks Convenience

Queensland lacks places that offer high quality on-the-go salad options that can be ordered without a hassle.

THE PROBLEM

Queenslanders looking for a healthy meal, like a salad, often struggle to customise it to their taste and dietary needs—whether vegan, gluten-free, or low-carb. With limited access to real-time nutritional information, making informed choices becomes difficult, turning the task of creating the perfect salad into a hassle.

How can we solve this?

The solution

Who Says is an app that provides a user-friendly platform where individuals can fully customise their salads, selecting from a wide range of ingredients tailored to dietary preferences. It offers real-time nutritional information, displaying data on calories, macronutrients, and more. With its intuitive design, the app simplifies building, adjusting, and ordering the perfect salad, making healthy, personalised choices easy.

Users provided feedback that they would like to see what ingredients they had included in their salad so this section that displays their selection in realtime was added

Observed that users could add an unlimited amount of each ingredient to their salad so I added a cap on each ingredient

Based on comments made by users I added in the dietary information of each specific ingredient for easy selection by people with different dietary requirements

Before

After

Option to toss salad added in after a user highlighted that some people like their ingredients separate

Footer made fixed to the page as users feedbacked that they would have immediately liked to see how much their order cost without scrolling
